Webbeing: to lead the soul through the Web
From the first days
of life and uninterruptedly, until the end, this partnership of soul and
development continues. Body (doing) and soul (being) are co-operating as
indivisible parts of one whole. The soul is like a motor, dragging with it all
the potentialities which it can discover in the body, helping to bring the body
into a position of safety and dominance over all difficulties. In every
movement of the body, in every expression and symptom, we can see the
impression of the soul's purpose. A person moves- there is meaning (being) in
his/her movement (doing).
The term Webbeing
coined by Nir Golan means to realize one's full potential and fulfill it- to do
the being on the Web. It is a core term according to the Digital Age. Webbeing
is a combination between Self-realization in reality and self-actualization
through the screen. In Goldstein's view, it is the organism's master
motive, the only real motive: "The tendency to actualize itself as fully
as possible is the basic drive... the drive of self-actualization." to
actualize itself as fully as possible through the screen is really challenging.
The only way to "actualize itself" is by using the passion that you
have to do what you do best through the virtual world, and spread your
uniqueness all around through the Web.
Webbeing is a combination of
Web and being.
Golan assumes that
Education is all about helping the soul to Webbeing itself. Education is
that process, by which thought is opened out of the soul and Webbeing is
to express and activate all the passion, capabilities and uniqueness of the
organism on the Web.
Webbeing is about educating
the soul through the Web. “Education is that process, by which thought is
opened out of the soul and, associated with outward things on the Web, is
reflected back upon itself through the screen, and thus made conscious of its
reality and shape. It is Self-Digital-Realization. As a means, therefore, of
educating the soul out of itself, and mirroring forth its ideas through the
screen, the virtual world offers the materials."/ Paraphrase based on Amos
Bronson Alcott. Bronson was an American teacher, writer, philosopher, and
reformer. As an educator, Alcott hoped to perfect the human spirit.
Students are living in
challenging times these days because the world around them is rapidly digital evolving
and transforming. They need many more teachers who will guide them through the "Digital
maze" of change into a world of tomorrow that is better than today. The
heart of this change is the term Webbeing. Plato believed that the
human soul possesses latent knowledge, which could be brought out and
elucidated by a specific type of discourse which he called dialectic: a
bringing to birth from the depths of a person's higher being. The Webbeing
process starts with self-awareness to the being on the screen. A higher
consciousness is needed in order to do this, and the result will bring forth a
literal enlightenment and a furthered understanding of human nature.
"Dialectic is
the only philosophical process which seeks for wisdom by anagogically uplifting
our Intellectual foundations so that our Higher Self ascends to the
Origin."
— Plato, The Commonwealth VII, 533d
