Students are living tough times these days because the wo­rld around them is rapidly evolving and transforming. They need many more teachers who will guide them through the maze of change into the world of tomorrow that is better than today. Soulagogy is a brand-new educational perception, coined by Nir Golan, comes from the Greek words psycho means “soul” and gogy or gogia means “to lead”, literally refers to “to lead the soul”. It is based on the assumption that Soulagogy: to lead the soul, means Educating the soul. “Education is that process, by which thought is opened out of the soul, and, associated with outward . . . things, is reflected back upon itself, and thus made conscious of its reality and shape." Amos Bronson Alcott.

Soulagic teacher aim is to serve his students. Instead of showcasing his own skills, Soulagic teacher tends to develop the capacities of his/her students. Soulagic teachers know how to manage themselves, how to temper their egos and how to act with nobility and rectitude. They are visionary and affect personal change. Soulagic teachers also have a highly developed sense of emotional intelligence and master key social skills. They work to overcome obstacles and are skilled at the art of consultation. They build consensus navigate diversity and establish unity. Soulagic teacher best skill is helping the student to look at him/herself in the mirror and being able to tell him/herself that they have done the right thing. It is about being able to live with your choices, when these are tested against values and not against regulation and quarterly results.

A sense of humility is essential for Soulagic teachers because it authenticates their humanity. Recognizing what we do well, as well as what we do not do so well, is vital to self-awareness and Soulagic teacher cannot exist without self-awareness.
